These numbers all have meaning for me in one way or another. Also, my smart-watch says: I’m on a 14-day move streak, I’ve stood for 3 hours, and my current heartbeat is 65 beats per minute.

Numbers give meaning to our Present every day life, and help us remember our past.

I can remember the number of days in the hospital. I can remember the number the number of calories she didn’t eat. She was looking for a number on the scale and a number on the tags of the clothing she wore,  All to approach zero and become nothing because she already believed she was nothing.

But numbers don’t tell the whole story so why do we live as if they do?

There are many numbers we don’t know. We don’t know the number of our days. We don’t know the numbers of hairs on our head… well some of you may.

We may only feel our value by the high number of likes or number of followers or the low number on a scale. And while a number may feel like success it is fleeting and condemning.

We may need numbers for reality but if we are numb we need being known for relationship.

Our view is distorted when we are so cut off that even the numbers no longer provide the reality we need to anchor our souls to the drift of our emotions.

I can easy pay attention more to numbers more than words. And I can feel rejection from both unless I pay attention to these words,
