The paradox – it’s not about being remembered

This is how it is with us. When we do someone a favor, that favor grows in importance in our mind over time. When we receive a favor, that favor diminishes in importance in our mind over time. My way of thinking to combat this is to think less of what I do for others and focus more on the good others do for me. Do good and remember the good done to you.

Long ago I encountered this poem, Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments. When I read it in another book over 25 years ago the ability to google and search for an author was non-existent. When this writing came back to my awareness last week I found the book where I originally had read it and went to Google to discover that this poem was written in 1968 by Kent M.
