The paradox – do good anyway

If you do good, people will accuse you. Do good anyway.
quote by Dr. Kent M. Keith

It seems a no-brainer most of the time to reach out and give a helping hand but if you have lived long enough and done good long enough, you have experienced:

the jolting bite from the one that you have fed,

the silent brooding entitlement of the teen who takes for granted the giving,

the incessant demands for more concessions from the one you have repeatedly adapted to.

Don’t withdraw from everyone just because of someone.

You nailed it, Mary! A simple concept but so many times we focus on the someone and let that taint our actions for everyone. Maybe it’s because those someones take so much energy that we don’t have anything left for the everyones?

Love that insight, Yvonne. Thanks. Yes, we can be drained from those someones!
