Long ago I encountered this poem, Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments. When I read it in another book over 25 years ago the ability to google and search for an author was non-existent.
When this writing came back to my awareness last week I found the book where I originally had read it and went to Google to discover that this poem was written in 1968 by Kent M. Keith as part of a booklet for students. This poem still has the capacity to teach any learner.
I’m sending small snippets daily this week as a way for all of us to consider the second-mile nature of loving and serving and to keep pressing on no matter.
Thank you.
It is good for me to remember, too, that when I take my eyes off of Christ, I am also unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. How thankful I am for the people who have loved me anyway and who continue to love me anyway. What a mercy that God loves me anyway for his own good pleasure.
